The 1835 Society – You are Invited to Join

The 1835 Society of St. John's Church was established to recognize those who have made provision for our beloved church in their estate planning. The Society's name recalls the year of the church's founding by caring families in the early years of Cold Spring Harbor. We invite you to join the group of benefactors of St. John's today, by naming St. John's Church in your will.

Help plan for the future and support the many ministries of St. John's, by leaving a legacy. Make a planned gift to St. John's.

Many members of our congregation recognize that stewardship is an ongoing reality that affects how we distribute our property upon our deaths, as well as how we use it during our lives. We share the belief that everyone should have a will and should, if possible, make provision for St. John's and other cared-for charities as a capstone to a life of faithful stewardship. Please make a place in your estate planning for St. John's.

Making a Planned Gift to St. John's

All proceeds from planned gifts go directly to St. John's General Fund and are invested along with other church assets. Our legal name, for any form of Planned Gift to St. John's, is: The Rector, Church Wardens and Vestrymen of St. John's Church, Cold Spring Harbor, NY 11724.

If you have questions about making a planned gift, or would like to talk to someone about different planned giving options, please start by calling our Parish Administrator at 516-692-6368 x3, to be put in touch with the proper person.

All inquiries to St. John's will of course be held in strict confidence. We urge you to discuss a planned gift with your own lawyer or estate planning advisor as well.
