Caring Connection

Caring Connection links parish volunteers with fellow parishioners when an “extra pair of hands” would be appreciated.

What does Caring Connection offer?
  • Rides to church and church events
  • Driving to occasional appointments, etc.
  • Occasional help with marketing
  • An occasional meal
  • A friendly visit or telephone call
  • Get well and condolence cards
  • A warm shawl as a symbol of caring
  • Information on helpful local services
  • Flowers from St. John’s altar
  • Copies of recent services

Caring Connection cannot provide nursing or other “hands-on care” or regular transportation for medical appointments. It can supplement but is not a substitute for family or paid assistance.

What can you do?
  • Volunteer to provide occasional services – see below
  • Become a monthly “contact person” to receive requests for help and contact other volunteers to provide the service needed
  • Tell someone about Caring Connections, or let our clergy know of a possible need
