Blue Bag Collection - Thank you! | St. John's Episcopal Church

Great work to all our parishioners who participated in last Sunday's Blue Bag Collection. We collected 10 bags for our parter the Community Food Council.

Your generosity each month makes a big difference in our community. Our next collection is on Sunday, April 9, Easter Sunday.

In the meantime, please consider picking up a Blue Bag, always available in our parish entrance, to fill any time and we will make sure it gets to the right place.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
