Flower Arrangers Welcome | St. John's Episcopal Church

We know that the altar flowers are an important adornment to our weekly worship services. For many years these arrangements were designed and executed by teams of flower arrangers from the congregation.

As we renew this ministry, we welcome expressions of interest from the congregation to join this group. We are happy to provide support and training for anyone interested. Please contact our new flower guild coordinater, Kathy Brewer, at [email protected] to join the team.

There will be an orientation and introduction to the ministry with wine, cheese, and fellowship at the church on February 15th at 7:00 pm.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
