Flower Funds for 2023 | St. John's Episcopal Church

The adornment of our Church with plants, flowers and other gifts from God’s creation is a way for us to remember loved ones and to give thanks to God for people or events in our lives. Altar flower requests are currently being accepted for Easter 2023 and any Sunday during 2023.

You may sign up to donate these decorations by completing a Flower Fund Form which can be found in the church entrance or the parish hall lobby, or click HERE for a printable version, and return it with your check to: St. John’s Church, P.O. Box 266, Cold Spring Harbor, NY 11724.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
