Oyster Bay Music Festival Preview Invitation | St. John's Episcopal Church

The Oyster Bay Music Festival will present a very special preview concert at St. John's. Please join us as we celebrate the 12th season of OBMF with a special afternoon of music, stories, fundraising, and refreshments with friends.

Featured music will include beautiful and dramatic works by Mozart, Ravel, Puccini, Poulenc, Liszt, and more. Returning OBMF stars for this concert include flutist Meredith Daly; pianist Maxim Lando; violinist Michelle Stern; and vocalists Kristina Costello, Erica Fletcher, and Kristina Shafranski. In addition, you will have the first chance to meet two new performers for this summer's festival. Reception will follow. We look forward to seeing you there.

Suggested donation is $100, with larger donations most gratefully appreciated. Donations can be sent to OBMF, 37 Hildreth Ave, Huntington, NY 11743.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
