Please join us to learn more about the St. John's Day Camp and to welcome our special guest Kevin Thorbourne, Director of Minority Affairs for the Town of Huntington.

The St. John's Day Camp has been a ministry of this church for over 50 years. It is a partnership between the Town of Huntington and the church which provides summer educational enrichment opportunities for the town's youngest and most economically at-risk learners. On Sunday, June 11 we will welcome Kevin to church and to coffee hour to share more about this ministry and how we can support the day camp this Summer.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
