Yesterday was another beautiful day of worship and fellowship at St. John’s. Special thanks to all who joined us to make it so and to the chairs of the Christmas Fair who hosted coffee hour and the Christmas Fair subcommittee chairs for their hard work of constant improvement and reflection.
Some have asked for the text of the two poems I read as part of my sermon in church yesterday. The first, the one about prayer and the grasshopper is called “The Summer Day” and can be found here at the library of Congress: https://www.loc.gov/poetry/180/133.html
Here it is read by the author on Youtube:
The second poem is called “Mornings on Blackwater” which is not published online. Both are published in her new collection “Devotions” which is widely available for purchase online or locally in Huntington.
