Adopt-A-Family 2024: Thank You!

The St. John's community has once again shown its tremendous heart through this year's Adopt-A-Family program. Thanks to your generous participation, every ornament was chosen from our giving tree, and beautifully wrapped gifts were delivered for local families in need.

Your thoughtful selections and careful attention to wrapping and labeling each gift helped ensure that every package would reach its intended recipient. The decorated space under our tree grew day by day, a visible reminder of our parish's commitment to sharing joy during the holiday season.

Special thanks to everyone who participated - from selecting ornaments to wrapping and delivering gifts by our December 15th deadline. Your kindness will help make this holiday season special for our adopted families.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
