Adopt a Family For Christmas
St John’s is pleased to again be participating in the Youth and Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay/East Norwich’s Christmas “Adopt-a- Family” Program. Our gifts from the wish lists of local families will help stretch their budgets and make the holidays brighter. St. John’s has been given 4 families to shop for this year. We need your help!
To participate, come by Bleecker Hall after church (starting on December 1st) and take an ornament from our Adopt-a-Family Christmas tree. The ornaments will each have a clothing item from a family wish list. Gifts can be as small as a pair of socks or as large as a winter coat — feel free to take more than one! An Outreach Steering Committee member will be there to your take your name and contact information and record what you have signed up for. There will also be instructions near the tree for those who come at other times.
Gifts should be wrapped, with the gift tag attached, and returned to the church by 12 noon on Sunday, December 15th so they can be delivered to YFCA families before Christmas. If you have questions or want to sign up between Sundays, please contact either Jaime Daggett in the parish office at [email protected] or Mary Gay Townsend at [email protected].
