Last Call for Artists for the Second Annual Parishioner Art Show!

Share Your Artistic Gifts with St. John's Church Community!

Last year’s parish art show was such a success that we will be doing it again during the month of February, hoping that more parishioners will be willing to display their talents in Bleecker Hall. You are invited to submit up to three works by this Friday, January 17. The committee will accept one to display from each artist. Include your name, title, year, medium, size (not to exceed 36"x36") and digital image(s). The physical drop-off of works will be Thursday, January 30th. All works should be framed, wired and ready to hang; no sawtooth hangers.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
