Blessing of Homes at Epiphany
It has been a long-standing tradition within the Christian church to mark and bless homes in the season of Epiphany - a season that begins on January 6 with the feast of the Epiphany.
A house blessing can be simple or elaborate - it can be a general blessing of the whole house or a room by room service of prayer that asks God's blessings on the activities long associated with each room. While there are prayers for each room, really, pretty much every imaginable room, the service can be adapted based on your preferences. The blessing service invites God to be present in every aspect of our domestic lives and invites us to see God's many blessings poured into our lives.
With so many of us spending so much more time in our homes during this Pandemic, your clergy thought this might be a nice tradition to revive in this holy season.
To have your house blessed - either from the outside or by a socially distanced procession room by room - please reach out to them directly so that they can schedule a mutually convenient time.
