Church Grounds Spring Clean-Up - ALL Invited!
Sunday, April 29, from 1 – 4 pm

Calling all who would like to help get our beautiful church grounds cleaned up and ready for Spring. Please join us for a fun time of work and fellowship as we come together to work on projects including: raking and picking up sticks, rocks, trash and other debris; edging of planting beds and trees; mulching; weeding around the edge of the pond; and other miscellaneous projects.

Just grab your work gloves and some outdoor-worthy shoes and join us for a great time of working outside together this Sunday afternoon.

All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteer service hours available for students.
All needed tools and equipment will be provided by the Church.
Ice cold lemonade and water and snacks will also be provided.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
