Clothing Drive To Support the Gerald J. Ryan Center in Wyandanch
Recently, our outreach partner, Gerald J. Ryan Center in Wyandanch, told us they are having a significant increase in men experiencing homelessness who are in need of clothes. St. John’s will be holding a Men’s Clothing drive from May 19th - May 31st.
Please bring your items to Bleecker Hall on May 21st or 29th before the 10:00 service or during Coffee Hour. Volunteers will be there to receive your items. If delivery on the Sundays isn’t possible, you may also leave items in the outer vestibule of Bleecker Hall in a collection box through May 31st.
Volunteers are needed after both 10 am services to help sort, pack and bag clothing. Additionally, we will need volunteers to deliver donations, help unload and store them with direction from Gerald Ryan staff.
Thank you! Volunteers? Questions? Please contact Ellen Hatch at [email protected].
Here is a list of requested items:
- Underwear - new
- Socks - preferably new, or very gently used
- Tee shirts - short or long sleeve
- Button-up work shirts
- Jeans and/or work pants
- Sweatshirts, hoodies, light weight jackets
