Cold Springers Youth Group for Advent | St. John's Episcopal Church

Dec 12 & 19, 5:30 - 7 pm
Bleecker Hall

Children ages 9-12! Join us in Advent for joy-filled evenings making and baking! We will start at 5:30 pm with dinner and then jump right into the activities. On December 12, we'll make custom disc sleds for winter downhill fun. And on December 19, the Cold Springers will create a special Christmas gift for their parents.

If your children are choir members just stick around. Parents! Be sure to check out our Parent's Circle Book Group that will meet concurrently in the Lee Room.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
