Community Solidarity Toy Drive | St. John's Episcopal Church

New or used, Community Solidarity is collecting toys to share with thousands of families in need across Long Island. You can donate, and help share the items you bring at one of our Food Share locations.

From now until Dec. 24th Community Solidarity is organizing a massive toy drive for the thousands of families we assist each week.

You're invited to drop off toy donations (new & used toys) at any of our Food Share locations, and you're also invited to join us as we share those toys on the following dates.

Sunday, Dec. 18th @2 pm - at the Hempstead Food Share
Tuesday, Dec. 20th @7 pm - at the Huntington Food Share
Thursday, Dec. 22nd @7 pm - at the Farmingville Food Share
Saturday, Dec. 24th @3 pm - at the Bedstuy Food Share

Or, bring your donations to St. John's before December 20th @ 7 pm.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
