Concert, 3 pm
Northern Harmony, an ensemble of eight to ten brilliant young singers based in Vermont, will perform a concert of world harmony traditions - South African songs and dances, traditional polyphony from Georgia, Corsica and the Balkans, and American shape-note singing, and quartet gospel. Led by Larry Gordon, Northern Harmony is the highest level performing group under the umbrella of the world music organization Village Harmony, which sponsors singing camps and workshops in New England and many other parts of the world. Join us for this fun performance! Donation: $20 adults, students and children free.
Larry Gordon and members of the group will also conduct a participatory shape-note sing in Bleecker Hall, 1:30 - 2:30 pm. All singers are welcome to join - music will be provided and all parts will be taught.
