Confirmation at the Cathedral | St. John's Episcopal Church

Saturday, April 21st at 4pm

Eleven of our wonder and faith-filled teens will confirm thier Baptism at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City. All of St. John's parishioners are welcome to come and support our young persons as they commit themselves in faith to Jesus Christ and his church in the Episcopal tradition.

We will recognize our confirmands the following day at our 10m service.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
