December Annual Fund Update
"When there is a clear need, Americans consistently are compelled to give. Indeed, many charities (including community foundations and national donor advised funds) report significant upticks in grantmaking by their donors.” - Bryan K. Clontz, Forbes, August 28, 2020
In 2020 there is a clear need to ask for additional support as we have not been able to gather as usual, nor have we been able to host outside groups and events that have added to our income as in past years. All of this has put an additional strain on our budget.
The collection plate and other Church use offerings are down significantly and it appears even with the miracle of multiple vaccines becoming available, church activities likely won’t be back to normal in the near term - even though we’re all praying it is sooner, rather than later.
Last year parishioners contributed $584,070 to our annual budget. We had to supplement this with $192,000 from our investments, thankfully that was down from a $260,000 draw in 2018.
So far this year (2020) contributions stand at $514,736, but the year is not over and we have seen tremendous financial support come to the church even in the last few weeks. Tax deductible gifts for this year can be received until December 30, 2020, so there is still time.
Thank you to all who have given already and thank you in advance for all those who will make gifts to support the church in this extraordinary year.
