Festival of Hymns: March 1-2

Join Us for the First Annual Festival of Hymns!
We are excited to invite you to the First Annual Festival of Hymns, an afternoon filled with the joy of music and community! This uplifting event, presented by the Nassau and Suffolk Chapters of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM at The Church of St. Patrick, Huntington (400 Main Street, Huntington, NY).
A Powerful Musical Experience
Experience the majestic sound of the Massed Choir, bringing together singers from across Long Island to perform some of the greatest hymns of the faith. Plus, raise your voice and sing along in vibrant congregational hymns, celebrating our shared traditions and coming together as one community.
Led by Matthew Koraus (St. Patrick’s, Huntington), Michael Haigler (Christ Church, Oyster Bay & Long Island Choral Society), and Bryce Westervelt (St. John’s, Cold Spring Harbor), the festival will feature organist Henry DeVries (Trinity Lutheran) and a festival brass ensemble, making this an afternoon of music that will uplift and inspire.
Sing in the Massed Choir!
We welcome all choir members and singers to take part in this special event. The Massed Choir will be anchored by the St. John’s Chancel Choir, the Choir of Christ Church Oyster Bay, and the Adult Choir from The Church of St. Patrick. We hope to have around 100 singers (or more).
- Rehearsal Date: Saturday, March 1, 2025
- Time: 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM (9:00 AM registration and music packet pick-up)
- Location: St. John’s Episcopal Church (1670 Route 25A, Cold Spring Harbor - behind the fish hatchery)
- Donation: $20 per singer (covers music and materials; free for St. John’s choir members)

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow singers, perform in a grand hymn celebration, and experience the power of united voices in worship. See or email Bryce [email protected] for more information.
Not a Singer? Come and Celebrate!
Even if you’re not part of the choir, we invite you to join us as part of the congregation! There will be plenty of opportunities for joyful hymn singing, making this a truly immersive and inspiring musical experience.
Whether you come to listen, sing, or simply be uplifted, this is an afternoon to celebrate faith, music, and community together. Don’t miss this unforgettable inaugural event!
