DERBY DETAILS:

The derby is free and open to people (kids and adults) of all ages.
Kids 15 and under do not need a fishing license. If you are over 16 years old and helping someone to fish, you must have a valid fishing license in your possession. A 1-day license can be purchased online for $5.
Bring your own fishing poles, tackle and bait.
This is a catch and release event.
There will be winners for Heaviest Fish, Longest Fish and Most Fish by age group.

We will also have a pot-luck cookout alongside the derby! We'll provide hamburgers and hotdogs. Bring along something to share!

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
