This Monday, November 25th at 4 PM in the Vestry Room, our Grief Support Leader, Ms. Laurie Byrne, a Licensed Master of Social Work and a Certified Grief Educator; will host a group to discuss the challenges of coping with grief during the Holiday season, particularly Thanksgiving. Please join us for a time of reflection and support as we explore the grief journey and navigating the holidays after the loss of a loved one. Under the guidance of a mental health professional we hope to provide tools and perspective to ease the difficulties of the holidays.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
