Grow-to-Give Pesto Sale | St. John's Episcopal Church

We have 14 half-pints of scape pesto available this week. They were produced by Warren Mazek after his escape from quarantine in Spain using garlic scapes he planted in the fall. The pesto is named in his honor, "Warren's Scape from Quarantine"

This frozen pesto can yours with a donation of $5 or more to the Grow-to-Give Garden ministry. You can also bringing cash to the 8am service (exact change only). Pesto purchased online will be available for pickup in a cooler in the parish hall entry way.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
