Hairnets Are The New Black
What an amazing day of service we had!
Jesse and I knew that this event would be fun and fulfilling for all those involved. We also knew that the meals we produced would be filling and nutritious for the recipients. We did not expect the amazing turnout and incredible spirit that filled the event.
With the support of the Diocese of Long Island over 100 people joined us for our day of service food packaging and Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance. Before the event we had a short service of prayer focused on the priorities of Dr. King's work: anti-poverty, anti-racism, anti-violence and the redemption of the soul of America. We remembered that King's work was fueled by his vocation as a Christian first and a preacher second.
And, we make 15,000 meals to be distributed to food banks all across Long Island.
What an amazing day. Special thanks to Myra Garnes at the Diocese of Long Island and to Jesse Lebus for his amazing support. Thank you to all the volunteers as well!
