Harbor Road Burying Ground in Episcopal News
Our work at the Harbor Road Burying Ground and the research we've been doing to uncover who is buried there has been featured in the Episcopal News Service. This project won't be news to members of the church, but it's exciting to see that our work is inspiring others. The work has required the commitment of the whole parish, both in caring for the cemetery and the team of researchers looking into our parishes ties to slavery in the 19th century.
In March your clergy were approached by a freelance journalist writing an article about the Diocese of Long Island's Uncovering Parish Histories work led by The Rev. Dr. Craig Townsend. We knew we would be part of an article about the whole project, but it turns out they wrote a whole article about St. John's.
