Host a Coffee Hour! | St. John's Episcopal Church

The Hospitality Committee is looking for volunteers to host Coffee Hour on Sundays after the 10am service. If you would like to sign up, please add your name, email address and/or cell number to the signup sheet that is available on the refreshments table in Bleecker Hall. Hosts are invited to bring small treats or finger foods for about 30 people. It doesn't have to be fancy! Coffee and tea are provided by the church. News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
