Housing Help Thank You Letters
Education Opens Doors
This past fall, Pilar Moya-Mancera, Executive Director of Housing Help, asked for our help. Two of Housing Help’s college bound interns, unable to afford the cost of campus housing, were facing pressure to stay home and work rather than attend school. The Outreach Steering Committee offered small housing stipends to each, making it possible for them to reach for their dreams. Building capacity through education is one of our missions, and the thank you notes that follow show the extent to which one small act of kindness can make a disproportionately large difference in someone’s life.
Hello! I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the honor of being selected as a recipient of the scholarship from St. John's Episcopal Church. It is with immense joy and appreciation that I received the news, and I am truly humbled by the generosity of the church community. I am a History Education Major and wishing to pursue a PhD after receiving my Masters in Education.
This scholarship comes as a tremendous blessing, and I want to convey my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the selection process. Your support will undoubtedly alleviate the financial burden associated with my education and allow me to pursue my academic goals with renewed focus and dedication. I thank you for your generosity from my family and I as we are always worrisome about how to pay for the following semester.
Being a first generation student and having to pay for University has created an immense amount of stress and the generosity from the Church has alleviated the pressure. I assure you that I will make the most of this opportunity and strive to excel in my academic pursuits. Your investment in my education is not just a financial contribution but a vote of confidence that motivates me to work harder and make a positive impact in my community.
Thank you once again for your generosity and belief in my potential. May the blessings of the community continue to inspire and uplift others as they have done for me.
With sincere appreciation,
A.F.
