How Then Shall We Live? (Updated)
Christian Ethics and Discipleship in a Post-Covid World
The last year and a half of the COVID-19 outbreak has revealed so much about the world and community in which we live. There are frayed edges on our social contract and new questions about the world we want to live in and the world in which we now live. These questions were present well before the pandemic, but have been placed in sharp relief by our shared worldwide experience.
What then does the Christian faith have to say about ethics - our obligations to one another - and discipleship - how we are invited to live as followers of Jesus? Join the clergy, members of the congregation, and guests to explore these questions using the work of Dr. Sam Wells as our guide throughout the year.
His book “How Then Shall We Live??” explores Christian responses to life's big questions in three major subject areas: Engaging the World, Being Human, and Facing Mortality. Our study will progress throughout the year with special events, small groups and adult forums and will allow participants to focus on one reflection followed by discussion. All are welcome to attend any and all parts of our year-long study. E-books and physical soft-cover books are available from Amazon.
Small group sessions are on Wednesdays, on Zoom preceded by 15 minutes of centering prayer at the following link.

This week our study is on a break. We will return on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, and will focus on chapters 14 ("Marriage") and Chapter 16 ("LGBT Identity").
