ISLAMIC CENTER OF LONG ISLAND - INTERFAITH INSTITUTE
835 BRUSH HOLLOW ROAD, WESTBURY, NY 11590
St. John's high schoolers are invited to a Teen Iftar - the breaking of the fast - during the sacred observance of Ramadan.
Ramadan is a very sacred time of year for Muslims, a month-long period of fasting from sunrise to sunset. With the approach of sunset, families gather to break the fast, typically by eating three dates. The somber feel of the daylight fast evolves into an evening of joyous celebration.
A FUN EVENING IS PLANNED!
Get to know your Muslim, Christian and Jewish neighboors through interactive games and sharing our respective traditions. Kosher pizza will be served.
