Our wonderful Chancel Choir is always welcoming new singers to its ranks. Consider lending your voice and spirit to the fellowship of music at St. John’s. Even if you haven’t sung since high school, you’ll get up to speed with a little practice. Anyone high school age or older is welcome to join. Please feel free to talk to any choir member or Steve Finch if you might be interested in joining, or just come. Rehearsals take place every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm in the Sherwood Room. Give it a “No Obligation” try! We look forward to seeing you there.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
