Lenten Study: Feeding our Spiritual Hunger
Many come to church longing for a deeper spiritual connection to the God who is visible in creation and who comes to us in Jesus through the grace of God’s Holy Spirit. We long for a deeper connection to love. We long for a sense of powerful and deep comfort in our lives. We long for a sense of companionship from the creator of the universe. We long for direction, hope and renewal. In short, we long for a more robust spirituality.
This Lent, join the clergy and your fellow parishioners for a deeper dive into Christian Spirituality by reading and discussing the classic book “The Holy Longing: The Search for a Christian Spirituality” by Ronald Rolheiser - available as a paperback, ebook and audiobook.
This Lenten study will take place on Zoom on Mondays at noon each week of the season for one hour. We will digest the book in manageable chunks according to the following schedule:
- Monday, March 14, 2022: Part 2 (Chapter 3): The Nonnegotiable Essentials.
- Monday, March 21, 2022: Part 3: (Chapters 4 and 5): Christ as the Basis for Christian Spirituality and Consequences of the Incarnation for Spirituality.
- Monday, March 28, 2022: Part 4.1 (Chapters 6 and 7): A Spirituality of Ecclesiology and A Spirituality of the Paschal Mystery.
- Monday, April 7, 2022: Part 4.2 (Chapters 8, 9 and 10): A Spirituality of Justice and Peacemaking, A Spirituality of Sexuality, Sustaining Ourselves in the Spiritual Life.
The discussion can be found on Zoom here. (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83614003320)
