Youth: Listening with our Hearts | St. John's Episcopal Church

These uncertain and painful times call for Christians to stand together as a community to uplift, encourage, and love. This is not an easy task, but together we can stand in solidarity, and pray with our brothers and sisters in Christ for justice and peace.

Youth are invited to join as we gather virtually to hold an open space to pray and talk with one another about what is in our hearts. Come to listen and share in a community of love!

A closing prayer service is open to all young people, their families, youth leaders and clergy. We hope you will join us!

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
