Migrant Laborer Camp Visit

St. John's teens and college students come together and visit a migrant worker camp on Long Island. The Eastern Farm Workers Association is hosting our group by providing us access to see how migrant workers live on Long Island. This is an opportunity to be present to some of the most marginalized people on the Island.
We will meet with the staff of Eastern Farm Workers for a briefing before hand to discover how they serve and advocate for these laborers. They will also help us to distrubute new fans to those who lack any other way to beat the heat this summer.
St. John's participants will gather the Sunday before, June 17, for our own theological briefing. Exploring themes of labor, migration and poverty in our own scripture and tradition. If you or a young adult that you know would be interested please contact Jesse.
