North Country Garden Club's National Flower Show at St. John's

North Country Garden Club of Long Island presents a Garden Club of America Flower Show, "There is a Season, Turn, Turn, Turn!" featuring floral design, horticulture, photography and conservation classes from its members and other GCA clubs. The show is open to the public on:

Wednesday, September 18 from 1 - 4 pm
Thursday, September 19 from 9:30 - 11:30 am

North Country Garden Club has extended an invitation to St. John’s parishioners and friends to its Flower Show Party on Wednesday, September 18, 5 - 7 pm. To register for this event, follow the link: Flower Show Party Registration, or send checks for $20 per person in advance to:
NCGC, PO Box 21, Locust Valley, NY 11560. Or pay $25 at the door the evening of the party.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
