Notes from around the pond:
St. John’s was pleased to be featured in an article this week on Newsday about our grant award last year through the Long Island Sound Study. The article focused on awardees from around the island. The grant was awarded to St. Johns’ to allow us to begin a process to make a plan for the ongoing care of the natural resources that are our pond and marsh, which are part of a larger eco-system that affects the water quality and resilience of Cold Spring Harbor, Oyster Bay, and Long Island Sound.
The grant is paying for professional services to help us develop a plan with input from various stakeholders and will result in a series of meetings and the preparation of a report. If you have not seen it you can find the article here.
