Flute Masterclass with Matt Ross
Matt Ross, flutist with the National Symphony Orchestra will be conducting a free flute masterclass with highly talented aspiring young flutists. Mr. Ross is a Long Island native and graduated from Smithtown East in 2012. He has played with many top orchestras and has been a winner of numerous competitions. This event is not only a wonderful learning opportunity for flutists, it is also a fascinating view into the world of young classical musicians. If you’re interested in teaching, playing the flute, or learning about life in a major symphony orchestra, please join us.

Concert: Inspiration and Notation
Please join us for an evening of tangos, crowd pleasers, and inspiration - concert highlights include Nina Rota’s Trio for flute, violin and piano; Piazzolla Grand Tango for violin; Granados Espagnole on double bass; music by Kurt Weill for soprano and mandolin; a Mendelssohn concert piece for clarinet and bassoon; a piano surprise; and much more. The concert is free with a reception to follow.
Between June 27 through July 4, the Oyster Bay Music Festival will present 12 completely different concert programs in 9 charming venues along the Gold Coast of Long Island. The stars of Oyster Bay Music Festival will astound you in this one-of-a-kind evening of music filled with virtuoso instrumentalists, chamber music masterpieces, and favorite vocal arias. World-class performers - almost all in their twenties - include National Symphony Orchestra flutist and Long Island native Matthew Ross; French/Viennese bassist Marc-André, who is redefining the possibilities of the bass and reaching millions of people through his innovative videos; virtuoso bassoonist Eleni Katz, who recently won the prestigious Concert Artist Guild Auditions; Soprano and activist Teddy Siegel, founder of the infamous bathroom account Got2GoNYC; and celebrated pianist Maxim Lando, who has been lauded by the New York Times for his “brilliance and infectious exuberance.”
