Observing Memorial Day at St. John's | St. John's Episcopal Church

Please join us this Sunday, May 26, for a special Memorial Day liturgy at each service to remember and honor all those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We will conclude both the 8 am and 10 am services by gathering around the church flag pole for the liturgy including the reading of the Gettysburg Address.

The church offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day the following day, Monday May 27.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

St. John’s Church is a sacred gift we are entrusted to care for and grow. Rooted in faith, we are called to nurture our church community so that it continues to flourish as a source of spiritual strength, fellowship, and service for generations to come.
