Project Toy 2024 Reminder

Just a reminder that the Outreach committee will still be collecting new, unwrapped toys until December 15th.

Project Toy is a joint effort sponsored by TriCYA and Family Service League, two longtime St. John's Outreach partners. TriCYA will be collecting toys from now through December 15th to help low-income families in our community have a joyous holiday season.

Parishioners are invited to donate new, unwrapped toys, which can be placed in the designated bins in the entry vestibule of Bleecker Hall.

Parishioners are also invited to help sort and wrap the gifts on December 16-19th when parents will come "shop" for their families. Volunteers are asked to sign up in advance to sort and wrap -- please see the attached pamphlet for more details!

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
