Reclaiming Paul for Today Continues!
Wednesdays: 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29
Zoom @ 7:30 - 8:15 pm
So much of our Prayer Book and Christian Theology in general derives from the letters of St. Paul. Many have reckoned his influence on Christianity is surpassed only by Jesus. Yet, there is great ambivalence about Paul in the Episcopal Church, nearly to the point of complete neglect.
Join us in this new Adult Formation class over the season of Epiphany at St. John’s. Over four weeks, we will investigate some of our apprehensions about the Apostle and attempt to rediscover his legacy.
Topics will include:
- New Perspectives on Paul
- Women
- Jesus, the Father, and the Spirit
- Poverty and Wealth
- Christian Virtue: Faith, Hope, and Love
You may purchase a book that will be referenced from time to time in the class, although reading is in no way required. The book is Paul, In Fresh Perspective by N. T. Wright (2005, published by Fortress Press). It is available here from Amazon.
