Renewed Leadership for the Flower Guild | St. John's Episcopal Church

St. John's Church is thrilled to announce that Kathleen Brewer has agreed to serve as the new coordinator of our Flower Guild Ministry.

Plans for revitalizing that ministry are still being made. Invitations to a special evening of fellowship on February 15th at 7:00 pm will be forthcoming to veteran arrangers and newly interested folks.

This evening event will allow us all to reacquaint ourselves and to build enthusiasm for this renewed ministry. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer arranger, please contact Kathy at her new St. John's Email address: [email protected].

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
