Confirmation Information Session I | St. John's Episcopal Church

Come get to know the leadership team and learn what to expect for our time together in Confirmation Class. We'll have games, lunch, and time for prayer during this retreat time.

Who: Children in Grades 7 or above
When: Saturday, September 21, 10:30 am -12 pm
Parents asked to stay until 11:15 am
Where: St. John's Huntington, 12 Prospect Street, Huntington, NY

We will be meeting once a month 12pm-2pm from October - May. Our first Sunday meeting will be on October 20th at 12pm at St. John's in Huntington.The monthly Confirmation meetings conclude with a retreat in May and a Confirmation ceremony in June. We will provide a full schedule at the Confirmation retreat in May.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
