St. John’s CSH at St. John’s Day Camp
Earlier this month, St. John’s parishioners Trudy Calabrese, Kerith McElroy, Ellen Hatch, Maggie Leonard and Bill Kiley visited the St. John’s Day Camp at Huntington Station’s Jack Abrams School. The visitors read to the little ones Using childen’s picture books that the volunteers brought from their homes, the campers were divided by age and the visitors read to the little ones. Ellen Hatch noted the she, “Totally enjoyed my 1st visit to camp. Keyana, staff and the program were all impressive, and it was personally so much fun to interact with the children.” There are still opportunities for parishioners to be a volunteer for a few hours during the remainder of the camp or to assist at the program’s culminating picnic that will be held on our church grounds on August 6. To volunteer or for more information, contact SJC Day Camp Committee Chairperson, Kerith McElroy, at [email protected] or visit the Volunteer page on the St. John's website.
