St. John's Day is a day set aside each year to celebrate the uniqueness of our parish community and our mission. This year the Primary Choir will be making a musical offering and our Junior Choir will join the Chancel Choir to offer an anthem and we will gather to celebrate another year in the life of the St. John's. We look forward to welcoming you all with open arms to a celebration of our life together. Please make a point to join us, sign the St. John's Day Register and get your special St. John's Day 2019 button! Show your St. John's spirit by wearing your buttons.

This year there will be a prize for the person wearing the oldest button and for the person wearing the highest number of unique St. John's buttons!

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
