St. John’s Outreach Announces Matching Grant For Hurricane Relief
St. John’s Outreach is actively responding in the aftermath of Hurricanes Fiona and Ian.
We believe that the most useful thing we can do right now is to provide funding to Episcopal Relief and Development, which has a strong track record of getting help where it needs to go after disasters such as this. ERD works through local parishes, giving them a direct connection to local needs. Many of you will remember ERD’s sustained presence and effective recovery efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation (which some of us witnessed firsthand through youth group mission trips).
Outreach will match parishioner donations to ERD in the next 30 days (through November 15, up to a maximum of $5,000.
To participate in the matching campaign, just email us at [email protected] with a brief note indicating that you have donated. Simply tell us how much, on what date, and we will match it. Our goal is to leverage both of our resources and enable all of us to be more powerful agents of healing.
You can either send a check to St. John’s Church with “Hurricane Relief” in the memo line, or give directly via ERD’s website. Here is a link to their hurricane relief donation page: https://support.episcopalrelief.org/hurricane-reli...
