St. John’s Outreach Celebrates Three Kings Day with Our Neighbors
This past Thursday, St. John’s Outreach volunteers teamed up with community partners to celebrate Three Kings Day with our neighbors in Huntington Station. What a wonderfully festive afternoon it turned out to be, full of shared smiles, resources and holiday spirit!
Despite the chilly weather, an enthusiastic band of masked volunteers worked together to bag and distribute donated groceries, toys, children’s books, PPE, Covid self-test kits, and important information about emergency rental assistance. A food truck served warm treats, while costumed “Kings” and holiday decorations added to the merry atmosphere. To keep everyone safe, the distribution was held outdoors in the St. Hugh’s parking lot. It was thoughtfully organized with drive-up and walk-up stations for each item to be distributed. Amazingly, close to 1000 people were served (approximately 250 adults and 750 very happy children)!
