St. John’s Volunteer Night at Community Solidarity — Tuesday, Feb. 25th

Tuesday, February 25th, 7 pm
100 Depot Rd, Huntington Station, NY 11746
Baby, it’s cold outside, but we still hope you’ll consider lending your hands and heart at Community Solidarity’s Huntington food share on February 25th, our next St. John’s volunteer night. The need continues to be great — last week hundreds of cars and walkers were served . Many hands makes light work, and it is a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other better while doing community service together alongside our neighbors.
Every week Community Solidarity assists thousands of families in low-income communities across Long Island by sharing free vegetarian groceries and hot gourmet vegan meals. They distribute food that would otherwise go to waste, repurposing excess inventory from local retail vendors. Their mission is to lessen the stresses of poverty while building a more sustainable, mutually supportive community.
The Huntington Food Share is located at the intersection of Fairground Ave & E. 6th Street, and operates every Tuesday night. Volunteers gather at 7 pm to set up and the distribution of groceries begins at 8:15 pm. Dress for the weather and wear work clothes — the food share operates rain or shine!

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about one of our longstanding local Outreach partners and support their amazing work through direct service side-by-side with your neighbors. Hope you’ll join us!
