Calling All Musicians: Third Annual Summer Music Festival

Calling all musicians - there are just a couple of spots remaining! St. John's Church is blessed by having a number of talented musicians in the parish. For the past two summers, several of these musicians offered the church their talents by playing during the month of August. We want to continue this new tradition scheduling soloists or ensembles to perform this summer. Singers and instrumentalists are invited. If you are interested, please contact Gideon by email ([email protected]) to secure your spot in this year's Summer Music Festival.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
