Welcome Back, Chancel Choir!
This Sunday, we welcome the return of our Chancel Choir to our 10 am worship, along with Music Director, Steven Finch, and Organist, Carol Weitner. We hope you've had a relaxing and restorative summer.
Our wonderful Chancel Choir is always welcoming new singers to its ranks. Consider lending your voice and spirit to the fellowship of music at St. John’s. Even if you haven’t sung since high school, it’s much like riding a bike! You may be a little rusty, but you will get up to speed with a little practice. The Choir’s contribution to St. John’s remains strong, but can become stronger - especially with your voice. The Choir’s ability to learn two pieces each week may seem daunting to new members. Be assured that we begin rehearsing each anthem several weeks before singing it in church. That is why Thursday evening rehearsals are so important. But you don’t need to commit to singing every Sunday. So do something for yourself: put aside your daily cares and discover the joy of singing with these dedicated people we call the St. John’s Choir. Anyone high school age or older is welcome to join. Please feel free to talk to any choir member or Steve Finch if you might be interested in joining, or just come. Rehearsals take place every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm in the Sherwood Room. The next rehearsal is on Thursday, September 13. Give it a “No Obligation” try! We look forward to seeing you there.
