Welcome Jun Kim! | St. John's Episcopal Church

Please join me in welcoming our new Director of Music Jun Kim who begins his ministry with us this week. Jun has been preparing for this challenging season since we finalized our letters of the agreement earlier this summer and is eager to come to know our congregation and its musical hopes and dreams.

Jun will join us this Sunday both for our in-person service at 8 AM and online for coffee hour.

As we enter this uncertain period, we look forward to Jun helping our ministry team to navigate the breadth of what is possible as we seek to prepare a joyful, prayerful, beautiful, and safe space to encounter God in our midst.

News

St. John's Episcopal Church was the first religious institution to be established in Cold Spring Harbor. The first Episcopalian services were held in the little 18th century school house just above the site of the present church. The very first Vestry minutes, written in fine script on September 4, 1831, lists the founders who pledged $2,000 to build a new church.

Like our lives, our church community is a gift from God we neither earn nor deserve, and yet, it is ours. We are responsible for caring for it, for nourishing it, and for participating in the ever outpouring gift of God's grace which we share through our actions together. We are stewards of these gifts for as long as we live, and we steward the gift of this church so that future generations will have the opportunity to receive God’s grace and put it into action.

Our whole life and ministry is “Grace in Action.”
