What's in your Medicine Cabinet?
Saturday, Oct 27, 2018, 10 am to 2 pm
Bleecker Hall, St. John's Church
For the second year, St. John’s will join with the Oyster Bay Cove Police Department to participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) national Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This nationalwide initiative provides an opportunity for everyone to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
Last year, about 50 people stopped by St. John's to drop off unused or expired medications, resulting in the seven large boxes containing 154 pounds of medications, ranking our church #4 out of the 19 collection sites on Long Island! This year, let's break our own record! Bring any unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal to Bleecker Hall at St. John’s. Note: The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps - only pills and patches can be accepted. This service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Contact Mary Jo Balkind or Janet Stevenson with questions or to volunteer your help with this event or check out https://takebackday.dea.gov/.
